ABOUT US //
David Dean + Janet Lapuz’s unique and fresh approach to imagery and style, captures the imagination and celebrates the beauty that is distinguished amongst great wedding photography. Injecting a vibrancy in their wedding images, David + Janet, chose to merge their creative backgrounds - hers in fashion + visual design, his in photography to bring forth an editorial, inspired style that is elegant, timeless and most importantly, well-crafted. They deliver only the best and have been celebrated for their genuine interest in their clients and passion for what they do.
Immersing myself in other cultures has always interested me and photographing South Asian and multi-cultural weddings has given me an outlet where I can learn more about the traditions, backgrounds and the history of some of the countries that our clients come from. Asia is my favourite continent and after photographing countless Indian weddings, India would be the next country I'd like to visit with Janet and our two boys. When I'm not travelling or photographing weddings, I like to read or at the very least, look at the visuals.
Here are a few of my favourite books, some contain more words than others.
Rajasthan by Pauline Van Lynden
Fields of Blood by Karen Armstrong
Genesis by Sebastiao Salgado
Close Up by Martin Schoeller
Culo by Raphael Mazzucco
Women by Annie Liebovitz
I also enjoy shooting portraits, landscapes, architecture and lifestyle. View my other site here or follow my commercial Instagram account to check out more work.
One of my happiest places would be sitting across the table from my favourite people or new found friends, sharing some laughs over a delicious meal. The way to my heart after all is through food and David can attest to that! The two of us have dined across 4 different continents and have had many memorable meals in plenty of them. When I'm not sitting at a table with a plate of food, designing a wedding album, recording your stories or emailing clients, you can find me trying to burn off all the calories I just ate. Usually by pretending to play tennis well (I just like how cute the outfits look), practicing yoga because hey, I've heard that by stretching you can gain a few inches in height, and sometimes I am repeatedly making the mistake of watching cooking shows while doing cardio. And then I start all over again and share a meal with the people I love – almost always it's with David and our two boys. Perhaps we can chat over a meal one day or a good cup of coffee.
